A topical numbing cream is applied before and during treatment to minimize discomfort. Most patients report mild sensitivity but find the procedure very manageable and well tolerated overall.
Initial healing takes approximately seven to fourteen days during which the pigment may appear darker before softening to its true color. Full healing and final color settling takes about four to six weeks.
